'A dull day, a sad day, a frustrating day – but everything seems bright when a small furry object hurls into your arms and tells you how very glad he is to see you home.'

Meet the trainer:
Jo Burt (CAAB) Certificate in Applied Animal Behaviour

My love for animals from a young age has finally pushed me to accomplish my dream to work with animals and people. After some careful consideration to change my career as an accountant I dug out my old pencil case and went back to university and studied a degree level in Applied Animal Behaviour for 2 years (part-time) at Southampton University. I gained some fantastic academic knowledge and scientific research understanding on various topics such as, how animals learn, basic genetics, evolution, communication, domestication and human psychology. And for that all important practical experience as well as the various coaching courses, I have recently worked with Sarah Robson (APDT) of Mutleys in Clifton, Bristol and Jodie Sterry, Animal behaviourist in the Forest of Dean in 2005.

I have owned dogs most of my life and now enjoy training my Labrador and Golden Retriever in various disciplines, including riding a surf board!

My thirst to learn has now taken me to seek out various practical courses, talks and seminars on dog training and psychology which I trust will benefit everyone I teach.
